We voted!

For the very first time in the US! Cambridge Municipal Election...lol

"May the force be with you" at Halloween!

 Jakob and his friends went for trick-or-treating. Obviously, never too old for that..lol

While Darth Vader was texting ( Emperor Sidious???) I was waiting for all the small trick-or-treaters to arrive.

Out of Africa...

That's what Olaf wished for his 50th birthday: a trip to South Africa! 

We spent the first week on a safari in Kruger National Park. First in the southern part of the park, then in the North. To watch all the animals was an incredible experience!

We heard the lions roaring in the night and the elephants walked by our safari lodge...

Then we took a train from Johannesburg to Cape Town, 30 hours across South Africa...

After arriving in Cape Town we toured the Cape Peninsula.

We also visited the penguins at Boulders Beach.

We reached the second most southern point in Africa: Cape of Good Hope.

 We took a ship to Robben Island. The guided tour through the prison was a tough one... though all around it looks so idyllic ...

 Of course, Olaf and I didn't miss the wine tasting in the wine country, lol.

 On our way to the top if the Table Mountain we separated: Jakob and Olaf hiked, I took the cable car :)

 One last dinner... and then, after two weeks, it was time to fly home.

 Btw: Indiana Jones was also there...lol

Shakespeare and West Point

We spent last weekend at the Hudson River and watched Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, a gorgeous view included.

The Boscobel House and Garden provided the perfect setting.

Close by is the US Military Academy West Point. We took a guided tour through the grounds.
