Walking in the Back Bay

As much as I enjoy my coffee in Little Italy, my favorite area for an afternoon walk in Boston ( and some window shopping) is the Back Bay. And its tourist magnet: Newbury Street.

Itzhak Perlman performing in Boston

And, we were there! "In the Fiddler's House".
I never before saw people dancing and clapping (during the music still plays) in a Symphony Hall. Boston always surprises us! At some point it felt as even the statues were spinning around...
But maybe it was only in my head, we made a stop at the Oyster Bar before, ha,ha.
It was a beautiful night, and some of the buildings on the way to the Boston Symphony Hall looked just spectacular.

I admit...

Yes, I was watching it. One of the embarrassing habits you don't like to admit. But it was such a nice comfort...Bye, bye Downton Abbey!

Cambridge style or peer pressure?

Jakob never biked much. Usually only when he was forced to, for example in vacation. So, Olaf and I were in shock, when Jakob declared how desperately he wants a bike. And then, we saw three of his buddies in front of our door. All with bikes, of course! That is not surprising in a city, where, I sometimes feel, are more bikers that car drivers. But, as our neighbor always explains: It's Cambridge!
No matter what the reason, Jakob got his bike, of course...
And a huge lock to go with it. Cambridge, or not.

We are not there yet, thankfully.

But, time is running out...

Why go to Rome?

Go to Little Italy! You can have it all right here: a perfect cappuccino or espresso, cannoli, a news paper to read, even a grappa. The most important: you can watch people passing by. And, the waitress comes to the table to take your order.
Though Piazza Navona is a more romantic spot...

At the beach

What's better than to spend the Sunday afternoon at the beach?!

Living in the city we forget how close to the ocean we are.
And to the first public beach in America!
Joey, for sure, found his favorite spot in Boston!
