Los Angeles and beyond...

I never thought I would like Los Angeles, but visiting our friends there got me completely hooked on this (truly great!!) city. It may be a little difficult to navigate at first... Therefore it's wonderful to have friends who can show you the best places.
Our friend also gave us a tour through his working place: the DC Studios and Warner Brothers Studios! What a perk!

Jakob got to visit the studio of his favorite show.
We played Friends (lol) and had fun with our (!) friends.
We walked along the Rodeo Drive, though didn't do any shopping there, sigh...
The downtown has some cool buildings:
the Broad Museum,
 the Walt Disney Symphony Hall
and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles.
We even made it to Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Malibu.
I didn't meet Kevin Costner in person, but at least I got to stand in his foot prints.
My boys found their favorite actors and characters too!

One of the highlights was the movie night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, wine, food and fire works included!

 Oh, Sandy...

After four wonderful days with our friends we went north, through the wine country and visited the Mission in Santa Barbara on the way.

And Solvang, a Danish Town in California!

Our Hotel near Paso Robles looks like a Villa in Tuscany, lol
We also got to see a different kind of villa: Hearst Castle

On our way along the coast we met seals and zebras.

We had some nice dinners together and we watched Germany losing vs. France (sigh...)

And of course, Olaf and I tested some good wines...

Then we went to the South and stayed for the last three days in La Jolla.
Here, the seals were right in front of our hotel, the pelicans too.

San Diego was definitely worth the trip.

Before flying back we had the chance to see LA from the top: from the Griffith Observatory
And, here it was: the Hollywood sign!

Then we headed to the airport...
